No central heating but hot water?

I have a Potterton puma 80 combi, no problem with firing up for hot water but when the central heating is switched on the boiler is making a noise and and seems to moving - also smoke. I have turned the boiler off completely but as you can imagine I am worried incase I need a whole new boiler. Can this problem be fixed, any idea of how much it would cost to repair
