FORD FOCUS REAR BRAKE PADS?

After only 2,000 miles outer pad is worn to the metal on off side rear. Seems as though piston is not retracting enough and pad is constantly wearing away. Is it possible to strip the piston down to clean and greese or will I need to replace piston in addition to another set of pads?
