Mend Dyson DC14 Animal Replace Started Stopped

How do I replace the motor in a dyson dc14 animal?

The motor started to sputter and eventually stopped altogether, I have checked all the wireing through the switch and all is OK. The motor tries and then stops and then tries again it does smell of burning so I assume that the motor is burning out?
