Ignore that bit about the SCART lead. It is just wrong. A bad SCART lead will never cause pixelation.

Generally it is cause by the input signal being too weak. So check Antenna/Dish alignment and all the cables and connectors between it and the receiver.

when you asking for help please always make good description of what you using: Satellite, cable or off air antenna, the question here on top don't explain any of that, I will just assume that is off air antenna, if you dont have good antenna, signal will be low and you will have problem like you describing. You maybe need Amplifier to boost signal quality, If you had decent picture quality before switching to DIGITAL, you may still have problems with DIGITAL, because if the signal is low it will pixelate or not show any picture at all.

i did not say that it would fix the problem by changing the scart to gold ones , but it might help as it did for me on some channells , that were freezeing. but i was useind a cable box , and im not sure if cyintha is on cable or useing a dish . like i said . their can be many factors , that will bring about freezeing , the dish being blocked , by trees , 2 or more tv on the same cable line , bad connectors, cracked cable outside , ect. and your right , the gold scarts are a rip off like i said they cost"but i found they worked on my cable box , my older ones that came with the box were crap , if you could get one from a friend , or take one from the dvd if you have one to test , but like Peccavi says check all leads, on the tv and box,,,,

An analogue TV will continue to display a wek signal and just present a fuzzy image - digital signal processing circuits just don't know what to do with a degraded signal and the image either freezes or pixilates. Your problem may well be signal cable related and you should look to your connections - wriggle them a bit to see if you can find the weak link.

Mick's suggestion of Gold Plated SCART pins will not necessarily fix the problem - You may have HDMI connectors - and Gold Scart connectors are only any good if the receptacle is also gold. Gold/Nickel and damp in the air causes corrosion between the dissimilar metals - any improvement will only be temporary. The use of Gold SCART connectors being "better" is a bit of a myth put about by the people who sell SCART connectors for silly money.

Good luck...

check your scart lead , or get a better grade one , the short gold plated one are very good , but cost more , allways make sure its in all the way in the tv too , and if your useing a satellite dish there can be other factors, that can cause this problem , but start with the scart leads ,,,,
