model number wma 30 hotpoint aquarius?

washing machine, will empty, but wont spin, when i plug it into socket power cuts off. I have taken lid off but can'not find any loose connections. There is no leaks, and no strange noises, no rattling sounds, i have had the machine for about 3 years, i have not had any repairs carried out to the machine in all of this time, it has always been relyable, the machine is in reqular use, it hardley gets a rest, the only fault to which i can find is that the wash cycle program will not wash on some wash cycles.
