Mend Ford Ka Heater

What is wrong with my 98 Ford Ka heater fan?

The heater fan on my 98 Ford Ka will only work on the top setting. Therefore The fan is full on or off. Is it the fan switch on the dash board or is there another component which might be causing the problem

Thanks Jeff I replaced the resistor and the fan now works a treat.

should be an easy one.If the fan works on top speed its not that.
If the switch works on top speed its not that.
so it should be the resister under the passenger dash that controls the speed.
get a new one from ford there cheep...
