Mend Laguna Oil Start Engine

advice on oil indicator, 99 laguna?

every time i start the engine on my 99 1.8 sport laguna the word oil appears on the electronic milage, i've checked engine oil and thats ok, haven't a clue what kind of oil it's meaning.please help!

it's just a routine engine check.

could be a service light eg car needs a service or theirs a oil level warning sensor that tells the driver your oil level.
Check your drivers manual.
If any red oil lights come on whilst driving stop and go to a garage....
