9448 alarm / tamper?

Hi my 10yr old 9448 system is in a world of its own - going off when not even set and the I can't switch the thing off, I have noticed the tamper light on though?

the alarm man reckons the circuit board is loose and I need a new panel

any thoughts please?

Wow Paul, the alarm man reckons you need a new panel, Umm did he get his multimeter out, fitting a new panel will probably not resolve the problem, Its and this is only a guess, the outside bell box tamper, The Scantronic 9448 is a tried and tested alarm panel, and there are lots of them all over the UK. I think the engineer who called at your house needs to go back to burglar alarm school and learn to use a meter. Circuit board lose and you need a new panel, umm what a Plonker he is.

hi paul im not familiar with panel dont think unless have pic but most main boxes have a tamper spring inside box check not missing ,also back up batterry inside might need replacing have you got an lcd display keypad or does it say tamper in any particular zone ,if so check equipment in that area for bad connections or loose covers alternatively link out all tampers in panel or you might need engineers code to reset depending on how complex an alarm hope this helps nedd any more info have you got manual sendreply
