Mend Halstead Finest Gold Combi Heating Temperature

halstead finest gold combi boiler keeps firing up then going out then fires?

The combi boiler fires up then shuts down then fires up and the pattern continues. This means we can't get hot water for long before it goes cold then goes warm etc.

possible cause plate DHW exchanger full of sludge if there is one in the boiler and will need to flush
