How do I stop my Dyson from overheating and stopping?

How do I stop my Dyson from over heating after about 10 minutes of vacuming? I have to switch it off and leave it till it cools down

Either the motor is running too hot because of a fault (overheating motor brushes perhaps)

Or the overtemp cut-out is operating prematurely and needs replacing

Or the airflow is restricted and not enough cooling air is flowing over the motor
