fiesta 1.8 tdi knocking engine top and bottom ok ?

any pointers have changed oil and fuel filters and oil in engine sounds like tappits knocking but of course its overhead cam checked big ends appears no problem it has a loss of power and of course the noise like the proverbal bag of spanners
