colin. the head gasket removal is a big job, which entails the knwoledge of a workshop manual for the imformation on timming marks,[but if you are mechanicaly minded her goes]
1.drian water.2remove top hose.3remove throttle cable and fuel pipes.4 remove air intake pipes.5 remove water header tank and pipe.6remove driver side inner wheelarch panel.7remove alternator belt.and power steering belt.
8remove any electrical wires to fuel pump that run around head area.9remove timming belt cover.10set timming to correct marks and lock in place with suitable pins/bolts.11when this is done remove the timming belt, which is held tight by a jocky pully with centre bolt [or a water pump which is offcentre]anyhow.12remove fuel filter housing off head.13remove rocker cover.14remove rocker assembly[these are most probably just rocker arms which fit under the camshaft held inplace with spring clips.15remove camshaft drive pully.16remove camshaft.17you now have access to the cylinder head bolts.18 loosen the cylinder head bolts [from centre out wards] 19 when all bolts loose remove all bolts again from the centre outwards.20 the head mite be tight so a little force is required use a suitable leaver then the head will lift off.good luck
