1992 525 i bmw transmission?

you must have the vehicle lifted in the air minimum 2 feet so a person can fit underneath and it being level is a must there is a plug on the side of the transmission pan (located underneath the vehicle ) while the car is running you must add fluid to the side of the pan thru this plug hole until fluid run out now quickly replace the plug but if you have to add lots of fluid often you have a greater ploblem

The filler is a 17mm allen plug in the sump. Use Esso LT71141 fluid (expensive). This generally is sealed for life and doesn't need topping up. Have you got a leak? Cooler leak is common.
