why does my 60 in magnovox picture and color have a glow?

my t.v 's picture and color has a glow look to it. you can see the picture but the picture is not as clear as it should be. when words pop up they have a glow around them as well as people's bodies. my girlfriend got mad and scratched the screen up one time. did she damaged something and if so what?

If you mean like a halo, it sounds like your convergence is out. It may be old age or that the CRT has had a really big thump. Sometimes can be fixed and other times not. Some big TVs have a convergence option in the menus.
