Mend Sony Ericsson W910i While Light Comes

i have a w910i and it freezes while the infared light comes on aswell?

well basically i have a w910i and it freezes while the infared light appears.
i put it in my pocket when it was locked and later i took it out and it had freezed and i turned it off and on again and its working fine now.
To help me can you tell me what went wrong so i can fix the problem so it will never occur again.

update the software from the sony erricsson site, it makes it stop doing it as much and runs faster
