Hinge on Hotpoint Tumble Dryer?

I had the hinge parts, I had removed the screws but then didn't want to force anything. The butter knife advice was spot on and I now have a fixed tumble dryer door on my Hotpoint TL71P without the £50 minimum call out fee! Million thanks...

Hi I have managed it with your help, when you said caps that triggerd the light bulb moment i hadn't realised that they flicked off. It's all done now and working, thanks very much.

I have seperated the door but how do i fit the hinge in the holes do the lugs where the pins fit does that seperate somehow

You will need to separate the 2 halves of the door ,first remove the 6 screws now help it apart (gently with a butter knife) to help overcome the lips around the edges.On separation of the 2 halves you will see the old broken hinge. Fit the new hinge into the door into the plastic carrying bearing caps.(ensure the hinge is the correct way round) check its action if o k refit all the 6 screws and now offer the door hinge up to the locating holes on the front case.When tight gently close the door checking the catch is in line.

some machines but not all can use a backing plate mounted behind the door hinge this could have fallen in the base of machine when the hinge screws where removed , simply recover it, now remove the top lid and hold the bracket in place while you tighten the door screws.
