too full to finalize?

I have a DAEWOO DVR-504 and used a DVD+R and recorded 6 hours of television program on DVD. But when it was done recording, the MENU shows it to be "empty." I can tell from the DVD that it has been recorded and disk is FULL. How can I get it finalized.
