How can I fix wall oven Westinghouse Silhouette Model # POD646QF-2?

Installed TV & power point cable down behind a wall oven (Westinghouse Silhouette Model # POD646QF-2) through wall to other side for TV & power point. The oven was vented to ceiling space with a length (1.5m) of 32mm conduit. Where it connected to the oven it was melted & burnt. Is it ok for the hole in the top of the oven be blocked off & not have the oven venting into the ceiling space, or do you have any other suggestions???
