How can I turn down the flames on my Belling GHU70?

I have a Belling GHU70 gas hob with 5 burners. They are so hot that they burn everything. Is there any way to turn down the flames so that I can cook things more slowly?

Don't the control knobs control the flame?.If they don't then may be you need to be looking at the gas pressure coming in to the appliance
