where is coolant sensor on a 2000 monte carlo and how do i change it?
My sensor light comes on my 2000 Monte Carlo SS saying lowcoolant. How do I change the sensor? Now the check engine light comes on. Could that be because of the low coolant light having been on. When the check engin comes on the low coolant light goes off
I have a 2001 MC SS, the low coolant sensor is halfway down on the side of the radiator, on the radiator cap side. It should say made in mexico when you look down at the engine. This is according to a 3.8 litre engine, maybe bg is thinking of a different engine(3.1 or a 3.4-though that is what you may have anyway)

The low coolant light is in the coolant recovery jug and usually requires the jug replacement because that is part of it ...
as far as check engine light that is proably a differnet problem unless your low coolant light is correct and it has run hot ....
the computer has reconized a problem and id trying to tell you somwing is wrong ..........I forget if ya can clear the code with a 2000 by disconnecting battery ...try it and go from there
call dealership about coolant juf it might be a recall by now because I know I MUST HAVE REPLACED A COUPLE OF HUNDRED OF THEM OVER THE YEARS
