i turned water off at mains now boiler wont work?

i turned the mains water supply off for a short time when i turned it back on my central heating was not working

where the water returns to the boiler from the heating loop(s) there shoiuld be a spigot, crack it and let it run into a bucket. you are trying to get any air out of the line. The boiler shut off when it couldn't get any more water even for a short time and sucked air into itself as it cooled. carefull the water will be hot.
