Mend Diplomat ADP8132 Dishwasher Starts Stops

How can I fix my dishwasher?

Help!!! I have a Diplomat dishwasher ADP8132. When I close the door the dishwasher turns, on the cycle starts then it stops and there is a smell of burning. When I open the door there is still water in the bottom of the dishwasher. Can any one help?
