Mend Sony DVP-C670D Dvd Player

How can I stop my Sony DVP-C670D from randomly replaying during play?

My DVD player randomly reverts back to an arbitrary spot and replays the movie from that point and does so on any DVD & doesn't always return to begin playing at the same point.
The CD player works just fine however.
