US bought DVD player busted in India coz of voltage difference?

I bought a sony dvd player from US for my parents in India and it busted when i plugged it in india (unfortunately without voltage converter).I forgot to read the instruction which says it cud support only 120V .

There was a little smoke and bang. Do you think it can be repaired?

yeah.. it should be fused in there... lift the ind and look for a small glass fuse.
unplug it first!
