my intergrated candy fridge freezer trips out the rcd on the mains each time it is switched on, all wiring and circuits have been checked, the appliance is only 2 years old, why does it trip out.
The same thing kept happening to us and we were told so many things by different companies until the guys who service the company i work for fridges in the london area www.agsrefrigeration.co.uk. attended and found that it was none of the previous but a faulty ice machine which they replaced and everything has been working fine since.

Similar problem to free-standing frost free fridge turned out to be due to an overflowing water tray. Water from the frost free cycle collects in an evaporation tray on the top of the (warm) motor. The tray had overflowed because the door did not close properly causing excess frost build up. This water dripped into the motor terminations causing the RCD to trip.
