Mend Porsche 911 Battery Lights Bought

changed key battery, remote lights up but does not unlock?

Porsche 911 just bought, 10 yrs old. Replaced batttery in key remote and now no longer turns alarm on or off and wont open or lock doors. Remote indicator lights up when pressed. PS when using key instead alarm always activates on opening door! Worked perfectly well before!
