When I insert a dvd into the player it makes and repeats a buzzing/light rattling noise then comes up with a message that says cannot read dvd. These are normal commercial pre-recorded dvds that have previoulsy worked perfectly with this machine. Any ideas? Many thanks.
My DMR-EZ45 has just had the same problem and been diagnosed as the RAM drive board being faulty. Repair shop will charge me £200 to fix!
Looking for another machine now.

Yes, heads have been cleaned with a cleaning disk. Also, dvds have been cleaned. Can I buy a new dvd unit for it from anywhere? I can find a spares source on the web. It is quite simple to remove and replace. Many thanks.
