Mend Volkswagen Type 4 Caravelle Transmission Engine Noise

VW transporter transmission knocking?

My Type 4 Caravelle occasionally makes a transmission knocking noice usually when starting off. De-clutching reviving the engine and starting again will usually resolve the problem.
