I accidentally poured DW salt in the drainage filter now it wont fill up ?

Sadly I poured dishwasher salt into the drainage hole. It got 1/2 way through a wash and stopped. I had to drain the water out myslef (& mop the floor!). Now it wont fill up & says 'check water' What do I need to do as I'm sure I can fix it myself?
