My lamp has a Kaoyi "konverter" (part No KFT-15022) as part of its converter/dimmer switch block. I phoned Maplins technical bods and they hadn't even heard of that part No. Opened said block up, looking for small fuse, what the hell does it look like ? Getting desperate now, Light fitting and window are getting closer.
My lamp dimmer of this type failed due to the sliding variable resistor failing open circuit so the light came on full power by itself. Tried to get a replacement variable resistor but no success. Brought a replacement dimmer of the same type and this failed after about 6 months with little use. Same fault should be off and suddenly comes on. Would not reccomend anyone buying a light with this dimmer.

I just googled on this part. This item almost burned down our home, I report it to our local store. I burned my hands, while this thing was melting away.

You may search for months to find a direct replacement - Maplins certainly wouldn't stock anything so esoteric.
In your situation I might be inclined to just throw the lamp away and buy a new one - or perhaps fit a standard 230/12V standard transformer without a built in dimmer. The wattage of the lamp will be significant.
The manufacturer will be pleased to sell you several hundred of them but a one-off is probably not a realistic proposition...
