Hotpoint WMA61 Washing machine. Door lock signal continues to flash?

if it is the same as the common problem for WMA35 then you will find that your control panel PCB has smoked. Dont buy another PCB because it will smoke again. The problem is either the motor or thermostat, tommorow i am looking into it more.

Are your brushes due for a change because i suspect this is a motor problem causing the short. My machine was around 4 years old when the problem occured
