I Have no spark from my suffolk colt engine, it is in good condition and worked well when store several years ago in my shed .Points have been cleaned and look good .Spark plug is new. I have heard that there is some sort of test involving torch batteries and a torch bulb .points have to be closed aparently and the low tension side is checked and then the hi tension, whats that all about then????
Thank you for your reply, ithink you are right about the cost .iwill try a new condenser first ,many thanks.

The battery and torch thing is simply a method to check the points are closing and opening.
It's more likely that the coil is toast, but replace the condenser first. It's cheap and easy. If that works, great. If not, new coils are available, but the cost will junk the mower.
