sounds like problem with fsd, a device that does not allow gas to be released if it doesn't sense a flame is present. Thats prob the easiest way to describe it. Looks like a little torpedo that sits in the flames path, could be knacked but if something has fell on the burner from cooking and not allowing flame to burn properly in that area then it wouldn't pick up the flame and energise the gas valve. They have also been known to move on rare occasions. Without gas on =) you would have to get ya head in and av a look. Thats the most common prob but could also be a valve fault but id say 90% fsd(thermocouple)
