my ceiling light doesn't work?

my ceiling light doesn't work, i have replaced the bulb for a new one but this has not made a difference

A wire may have fallen from its connector hole - either at the switch, at the light fitting on the ceiling, in the bulb holder dangling down or even at a ceiling point in another room - there's a possibility that the new bulb is also broken so it's a good idea to check the bulb in another room.
