Zafira intermitant rear door locking problem!?

Hi, My car is a 55 plate Zafira life, the problem is that the rear near side door sometimes won't lock, but only sometimes! Also when the door is opened the interior light doesn't come on. Not sure if they are connected?

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
