I have just had the same problem with the passenger side rear door ( 1.9 cdti design 2006 ) - all doors locked with the remote fob except for this one. Purchased a replacement motor ( £25) from motorhog ( doncaster motor spares ) following advice from my local tech guys , sadly this did not cure the problem , but i have learned how to remove and replace the door card ( allthough i dont know how you would manage to do this while the door is shut ! ).
. Using a small flat screwdriver - pry out the plastic trim with a slight twisting action, behind the chrome lever that opens the door , there is a small slot to insert the screwdriver into.
. next pull off the outer plastic trim of the interior door handle ( the one you use to close the door ) grip it firmly and pull upwards
. behind these two area,s you will find 3 star head or torx screws ( 2 behind the pull handle & 1 behind the chrome lever that opens the door )
. remove these with the correct bit and put them safe ( so they dont end up down a drain )
. next using a large ( blunt ) flat bladed screwdriver or similar blunt object - starting around the bottom of the door card - pry the panel/plastic edge away from the door enough to get your finger ends into and pull outwards to release the plastic studs attaching it the steel door ( this sounds like something has broken when they pop out but it hasn't and is the only way to get the panel off - if the plastic studs stay in the door they can be pulled out by using a pair of snipper type pliers around the stud and lever them out to replace in the panel ) pop all the studs around the bottom and up each side
. next , holding the panel at the top at each side pull upwards to release the card from the clips along the top edge - be carefull not to pull up too far as the electrical connection to the window switch & the cable linkage to the handle release are still connected
. pull out the electrical connector to the window switch & release the plastic retaining clip on the cable linkage , remove the hooked end of the cable linkage
. the door card is now free to put in a safe place
. pull off or cut off the thin plastic covering that is stuck to the door to get to the lock machanism
. remove the black plastic covering on top of the electrical connector by pulling upwards
. insert a small flat bladed screwdriver into a gap on top of the electrical connector ( seperate red clip arrangement ) and prize it upwards, this releases the electrical connector outwards
. coming from the lock mechanism upwards to the outer handle is a vertical bar which is secured at the top with a plastic clip, this clip needs to be released from the bar outwards and upwards , then the bar will slip out of the hole
. finally the lock is held into the door edge with 3 large star or torx head bolts, after removing these the lock is free
replacement is a reversal of the removal procedure above - :-) enjoy
Hope this helps - please watch your knuckles as the inside of the door is quite sharp
I will be checking out the wiring tommorrow - i will let you know how i get on.
