Caple Wmi 2201 banging?

Sounds like this a bearing problem & it will invariably lead to total bearing failure sooner rather than later. Check for slack on the drum by lifting it up & down...then spin it by hand & listen for a grinding type sound to confirm.
It may be uneconomical to repair + it isn't a job for the faint hearted.
