Pressure drop on a Worcester 28i RSF combi boiler?

Geoff , if you suspect the boiler is losing pressure carry out the following

Switch the power to the boiler off, pressurise it to 1.5 bar and isolate the flow and return (the service valves are usually beneath).

Leave overnight and note the pressure. A drop will indicate the problem is within the boiler otherwise it must be in the CH circuit. This assumes that the PRV is not letting by.

Hi Andy, No I have had no luck with the answers I've been given. You don't mention that you have to refill your system, have you fitted a combi boiler to an old heating sytem that used to have a header tank? If this is so you may have a leak under your floor boards that was not detected with the old system. You may need to have a pressure test done on the pipe work to prove that you are not loosing water from a bad joint etc.

Hi Geoff

This keeps happening to me also, at night pressure drops right off and the red flashing light always appears in the morning. Once i press the start up button(red light) it fires up and starts ok. Did yo have any luck with an answer? I too was told to look outside for a leak, but no dripping. Its just a hassle i have to walk down stairs everymorning to fire up. Is there an easy answer?

Glen, Thank you for your message, I have checked the pressure relief valve pipe on the outside of the house and it is dry.

Have you checked the pressure relief pipe which should be a copper pipe that goes outside directly from the boiler.
Locate it and see if it's dripping.
