remove rubber gromet at the centre of boot put a screw driver in turn anti clockwise this will open boot but this will not cure the problem but will get the boot open

Climb in the back and in the middle of the door cover there is a small gromet,remove the gromet and there is room to put a screewdriver in to turn the catch.
