Miele W980 waszhing machine check inlet alarm ?

Please can anyone tell me what this fault might be only on some programes does it happen but it will get most of the way through the cycle then the alarm on the machine will sound and the check inlet light flashes .. What is the confusing bit is that it doesnt do it on all programes ..... Help Please !!!!
