Dell Latitude D610 Screen Ligh problems?

Hi there

My dell latitude switches on but the light behind the screen which enables the user to view content on the screen is not coming on. you can see the tft is on but no light.
I have checked invertor main cable from motherboard to screen but to my avail nothing has worked
