What is a body control module?

The body control module controls things like central locking, alarms, electric windows, light controls, heated screens, automatic wipers, the list goes on, but it does not control water into the footwells!!!! that will be due to a badly fitting door seal or a leak in the heater matrix or some other non electronic fault
