I went to start my mower, it won't start put in new spark plug and it still won't start. I made sure it was getting gas and it is. I had my wife try to start with the spark plug out and I was looking for spark and I didn't see any. I think it needs a coil.
Make sure the spark plug is touching a metal part of the engine as you are testing - and looking for a spark in the dark is an easy way.....if no spark, remove the cowling holding the recoil starter and the coil is in there, held on by 2 bolts. On refitting leave a tiny gap between the coil and the flywheel.
