I would advise you to use a professional repair service as electrical repairs should always have a PAT test done- Portable Appliance Test ( actually all appliances should have regular tests ) hovever any cable replacement is only a reversal of the removal so document every step or better still record on cam the removal - there are various models and some are easier than others BUT PLAESE have the appliance Professionally tested ( it can be only a couple of quid for the test )

if they are a mark3 or earlier remove the two screws next to the black ring,flick of the black ring and that little bit of casing will come of ,if it is a mark 4 you have to remove the hinge caps and remove the hinge screw and split the straighteners in half to get to this little cover
