My newly memory card miniSD 2gb is now shoing in mobile & can't format?

I have purchased new MiniSd memoray card of 2gb and it is now showing in the mobile (new mobile). When checked through reader it formats but show message : " can not be formatted ". More over, another memory card miniSD of 512 mb is not formating it inspite of FAT and FAT32. Any soloution? Please guide or help me.

This is a really useful utility for formatting SDCards. You will loose any data on the card, but it will then be fully functional.
