code for the ford 4000 radio cassette?

i have just bought a escort van with the 4000 radio in it but the code on the paper work (3328) wont enter and when i have tried to enter it goes on a 30 miniute count down, the serial number of the unit is m049319, hopefully somebody out there can help me,
