FIXING THE FRONT DOOR LOCK?

I was trying to tighten the door handle on our L5 Legge lock and unscrewed the lock and there was a spring inside the lock that pinged out. I don't know where it goes or how to connect it back in ? There are 2 springs one is a coil spring which is still intact but the other spring which is curved at one end and straight at the other with coils in the middle does not appear to have a home, please help ?
