The replacement chain length is described by number of links (loosely based on the bar length but can vary depending upon bar width and sprocket size). Most ProMacs 700s have about a 28 to 32 inch bar, and yours could vary even more. So you have to count the links to get a replacement the right length for your setup. Any good saw store should be able to make a replacement if they know the number of links in the chain. I have had good response for replacement parts for my Pro Mac 700 from Quincy Chainsaw Sales and Service, in Quincy, California. They have a webpage and will mail parts. Although the chain (pitch and gauge) has not changed over the years it is getting hard to find other parts for these old McCullochs and this shop can help. Since you should also replace the drive sprocket and must get the right pitch and gauge of chain and sprocket I recommend contacting this or a similar shop in logging country.
