HOW TO FIX A WASHING MACHINE THAT TRIPS THE TRIP SWITCH?
HI! WE HAVE A MACHINE THAT WORKS FOR A MINUTE AND THEN TRIPS THE TRIP SWITCH. THE WATER FILLS INTO THE MACHINE OK BUT WHEN THE MACHINE TRIES TO START THE WASH THE TRIP SWITCH GOES. I CAN'T AFFORD TO GET IT FIXED BUT I AM WILLING TO GIVE IT A GO MYSELF. WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE? THANKS
It may be the heating element - try and run a cold wash if you're able as a test - if it works then it's the heater - if it still trips out your electrics, it may be motor related.
If money is tight then you need a good diagnosis before buying spare parts...
