hello, i have a ford transit 300. i am having problems selecting gears. the problem is not constant when driving only Intermittent. How ever when the van is stationary i cant get in to any gear unless the van is turned off.
theres 6 bolts /2cables /pipe & plug. the tools you need are:-(long wobly end ext /10mm socket /Houdini good luck

they also have a problem with the bolt that holds the selector together inside a small 8mm or 10mm bolt this comes out and makes it not select gears, try removing the selector and see what i mean we have done loads at ford

transits have a problem on gear selector shaft siezing,can be removed without taking gearbox out, 4 bolts on top of box

If you can select the gears when the engine is off, then it sounds like you have a clutch problem, rather than a gear linkage one.
